Biography

1973: Humanistic High School on Emil Fischer High School in Euskirchen. 1973- 1980: Study of medicine at the Albertus Magnus University in Cologne. 1980-1981: Medical Assistant in the Department of Surgery, University of Cologne (Pichlmaier). 1981-1982: military service as a medical officer of the Armed Forces at Army and Air Force in Munster, Cologne-Wahn and Nörvenich. 1982-1985: Medical Assistant in the Department of Surgery, University of Cologne (Pichlmaier, Reichmann). 1985-1987: Research Fellow and House Officer in Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital - Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA (Abbott, Darling, Brewster). 1987 -1992: ward physician in the Department of Surgery, University of Cologne (Pichlmaier, Rehm). 1992-1998: senior physician in the Department of Surgery, University of Cologne (Pichlmaier, since 1996 Hoelscher). Since 1998: Univ.-Professor of Vascular Surgery at the JW Goethe University. 1998-2007: Head of the center of gravity and vascular Endovascularchirurgie clinical center at the University of Frankfurt am Main JWGoethe. Since 2004: in addition gGmbH chief physician of vascular surgery at the Hospital of the Holy Spirit, teaching hospital of the JW Goethe University. Since 2004: Konsiliarius of Vascular Surgery at the German Clinic for Diagnostics, Wiesbaden. Since 2007: Director of the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of the Hospital of the JW Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.
